Joya Sosnowski
Joya Sosnowski is a sound medicine woman, mindfulness meditation teacher, author of Grieving Awake and teaches that grief can become a thin place; a rupture in ordinary consciousness through which deeper questions, unexpected perceptions, spiritual experiences, and a more intimate relationship with Life can emerge.
Her work explores what can become available when the identity we once knew is disrupted by grief, loss, transition, or spiritual awakening. Through meditation, sound, voice, somatic practice, prayer, and deep inner listening, Joya helps women come back into relationship with their bodies, their inner knowing, and what they experience as Divine guidance.
With 33 years in the healing arts and more than 30 certifications and trainings spanning mindfulness, sound healing, spiritual psychology, and trauma-informed somatic modalities, Joya bridges the mystical with the embodied. Her teachings are informed not only by decades of contemplative practice, but by direct mystical experience and revelation following the profound personal loss of her son.
Her work include:
• Sound and voice practices that support nervous-system regulation and inner coherence
• Somatic practices for embodied awakening
• Meditation and practices for developing receptivity and intuitive intelligence
• Grief-alchemy teachings and rituals
• Voice, humming, chanting, and sound-based practices
• Prayer, silence, and contemplative listening
• Grounded exploration of mystical and spiritual experience
